Don’t worry if you’re not familiar with Kyoto’s streets. The city has a grid-like layout with clearly marked street names, making navigation easy. We offer free maps—just ask our staff if you need one.
Many tourist sites in Kyoto have dedicated bicycle parking, but not all do. If your destination does not have a bicycle parking area, please use a nearby paid parking lot. Please do not park bicycles on the street or in prohibited areas.
Electric assist bicycles require no driver’s license. They provide power assistance while you pedal, making hills, long distances, or carrying a child seat much easier and more comfortable. The motor assists your pedaling but does not increase your speed. If the battery runs out, you can continue riding as a normal bicycle. Depending on the model, mode, and road conditions, the range is about 20–60 km per charge. For most users, this is more than enough for a full day of sightseeing.
Enjoy easy, effortless riding—no need to worry about hills or long distances. Electric bikes are suitable for everyone, environmentally friendly, and the best way to experience Kyoto at your own pace.
